Fred Davis

Fred Davis has more than 22 years experience as a practicing Neuromuscular Therapist combined with 18 years as a Neuromuscular Therapy Instructor. He developed a highly successful full time clinical practice treating clinical patients over a 21 year period. His passion for NMT stems from a very personal experience of the effectiveness of NMT for pain relief and recovery. In the military Fred sustained a cervical injury where he lost the use of his legs. A Physical Therapist helped him gain some movement back in his legs, but was not able to alleviate the pain. A Neuromuscular Therapist, however, was able to eliminate the pain and helped him regain almost full range of motion and function. Because of his personal experience, Fred has a kinesthetic understanding of how NMT works as well as its effectiveness and therapeutic value.
Fred has a strong background working with many modalities in the medical community including, Neurologists, Chiropractors, Orthopedic Surgeons, Gynecologists, Rheumatologists, Interologists, Physical Therapists, Occupation Therapists and Speech Therapists. He has worked in the Institute for Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Recovery, American Spinal Center, Sports Massage Associates of Atlanta, Health and Tennis Corporation of America, The McKenzie Center and The Institute for Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Recovery. He has created new markets for Neuromuscular Therapy in Neurology, Rheumatology, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Chiropractic, and Physical Therapy practices through strategically planned, benefits oriented presentations to physicians and clinic directors.
Fred has been effective assisting the recovery of people with whole head and closed head injuries as well as quadriplegics and paraplegics. He has also been effective with some of the symptoms of spinal injuries, fibromyalgia, MS, scoliosis, vertigo related diseases, such as Meniere's Syndrome and other vertigo related dysfunctions, whiplash injuries, military neck, forward head posture, Gastro Esophageal Reflex Dysfunction(GERD), lower back pain, upper back and cervical pain, Temporal Mandibular Joint Dysfunction(TMJD) and rehab post-surgical recovery for knee replacement. He has helped people who have had chronic pain conditions alleviate and eliminate the pain and see measurable and quantitative differences in their quality of life.
Fred has trained and developed 13 NMT instructors and 13 NMT assistants. You could say that Fred is the instructor of the instructors. He has helped develop the NMT curriculum for ASHA School of Massage as well as contributed research and compiled information for the development of the Neuromuscular Therapy Training Manual. Fred has provided instruction and curriculum for an intensive 4 day TMJ training program for NMT students on site at Sterling Massage School, Inc., in Dallas, Texas. He trained their NMT instructors and continually provides advanced and updated training. So far Fred has taught 31 classes with over 450 students. Fred currently teaches continuing education courses on TMJD. He is a member of and nationally certified by the International Massage Association(IMA).
